Pulvinar Neuro LLC
I am delighted to announce that we have started Pulvinar Neuro LLC, a spin off company from the Frohlich Lab at UNC. We have spent the last three years developing a tDCS/tACS research device that fulfills our needs for double-blind, placebo-controlled studies. In particular, we were focused on developing a device that does not require an engineering degree to operate and understand, a device that allows for sophisticated double-blind study designs (e.g. any number of study arms), and a device that provides complete and encrypted logs of everything that happened during stimulation for validation. As we were making progress with this project, I got approached by more and more researchers about being able to use "our device". Since research grants are not built to make products (and provide support!) at that scale, we have decided to start a company, from researchers for researchers to share our work with the community. I felt this is the responsible thing to do to help advance our rapidly growing field of non-invasive brain stimulation.
